Whipped Cream Recipe
|
With the current concern for saving money as well as trying to be a bit healthier, many people prefer to make a lot of their food condiments and other food items at home. This goes back to the time when the cows were milked everyday for cream and milk, the butter was churned, and cheese was homemade. Many farms still do all of these things and love the lifestyle. People today are even using a whipped cream recipe to make their very own version of the fabulous whipped topping that is enjoyed on pies, cakes, fruit and other desserts. Making your own whipped cream is really a very quick and easy project even if you have never tried your hand at something like this. Simply follow these instructions:
Put the heavy cream in the large mixing bowl and whip until stiff peaks are just about to form. Beat in the vanilla extract and confectioner’s sugar until the peaks are formed. Be careful not to over beat the ingredients or you run the risk of the cream becoming lumpy and of a butter consistency. That is all there is to it! The recipe can be modified if you need to by using regular sugar in place of the confectioner’s sugar or by using an alternative sweetener such as Splenda to make it sugar free. The above recipe is simply a basic guideline as a place to begin. If you choose, you can follow it verbatim and enjoy tasty whipped cream, or you can use it as a starting point and change it around as you see fit. This recipe makes 16 servings. The whipped cream can be stored for a brief amount of time in the refrigerator but it is best to use it as soon as possible so that the stiff peak consistency will remain. As you can see, it takes very little time to put this together and your guests will be delighted at such a tasty treat. |
